About Alison Anton

natural chefChef Alison Anton has been a professional in the health and wellness field for over twelve years. She is a Certified Nutritional Chef, food writer and culinary instructor through Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Arts in Northern California.

 

Alison received her chef certification through Bauman College and furthered her coursework with a certification as a Nutrition Educator, also through Bauman College. She continues her mentorship with the director, Dr. Bauman, as a Nutrition Research Intern for his newest nutrition book.

 

Alison is a community leader and teaches cooking and nutrition classes through the Whole Foods Market Salud Cooking School throughout Northern California and the Ashland Food Cooperative in Southern Oregon. She writes and submits a quarterly eLetter and companion blog, both titled Natural Cooking, which feature food articles, healthy recipes and culinary inspiration to a wide audience.

 

Alison’s mother is a renowned gourmet chef, who starred in her own gourmet cooking show, Cooking with Dorothy McNett, which aired twice weekly on the Monterey Coast in Northern California from 2001-2005. Alison has received much of her enthusiasm for food from this inspiring teacher and fabulous chef.

 

Alison holds a State of California Food Handler’s Certificate and is a member of Slow Food USA, the movement that works to promote the diverse cultural food traditions of this country. She supports local organic farmers and fair trade food products.
